It’s the beginning of the second quarter of the year and when 2018 started we all had goals we wanted to achieve before the year ran out. Some goals are still on track but some are not going as planned. There’s no need to fret or freak out because there is still time, with 272 days still ahead, you can make it!
Now that we have established that setting goals is not as easy as achieving them, here are 5 ways you can stick to your goals for the rest of 2018
You need to redefine your goals and according to John Norcoss a Professor of Psychology at the University of Scranton , you need to define your goals in a way that will help rather than hinder you. You have to make sure your goals are SPECIFIC, MEASURABLE, ATTAINABLE, RELEVANT and TIME SPECIFIC.
2. Focus on the passion for yours goals
Before setting your goals when the year started, you had a reason for embarking on this journey. You need to keep this reason fresh in your mind. Your passion has to be rekindled in your mind every day. You will get motivation regularly when you remember the reason you set the goals in the first place.
3. Find a support group
Achieving your goals is a lot easier if you’re held accountable for them by the people around you, people like family, a friend, an expert, and/or a support group. You also need to associate with people who have succeeded in achieving their goals for encouragement, advice and support.
4. Evaluate and Replace. Never Eliminate
Do an evaluation of the past three months and see where you failed and where you need to do better. Do not eliminate anything from your goals rather replace the mode of achieving said goal with a better method. Work hard and smart.
5. Take a day off
Take a day off to rest, there is no need to overwork yourself to the point of breaking down because you want to achieve your goals. Rest, use the day to strategize and restrengthen your mind and body to so you can start again.
