Sometimes using skin products with chemical additives may not be the answer to your skin problems, whatever they may be. There are a lot of everyday ingredients you use at home that not only have a great effect on your skin, they can cure your skin problems once and for all.
If you are willing to sacrifice a little of your time to care for your skin, here’s a list of 4 DIY facial masks that can help you get rid of acne:
1. TURMERIC FACIAL MASK
½ teaspoon turmeric powder
½ teaspoon organic apple cider vinegar
1 tablespoon of organic, raw, local honey
½ teaspoon milk or yogurt
[optional] 1 drop lemon essential oil or fresh lemon juice for additional skin brightening
Wash face and hands first to remove impurities and any make-up.
In a small bowl or jar, mix the turmeric powder with the honey, apple cider vinegar, milk or yogurt and optional lemon oil. Try to get a consistency that will stick to your face. Be careful not to make it too thin as it may drip.
Apply the mask carefully avoiding your eyes.
Allow the mask sit on your face for 15–20 minutes then rinse with warm water.
If you have any leftover, you can cover and leave in the fridge for your next application.
Apply twice a week for best results.
2.YEAST FACIAL MASK
1 tbsp a yeast
2 tbsp a warm milk
1 tsp a honey
Dissolve a yeast in milk, mix with a honey and apply a mixture on the skin for 20 minutes. But if you are allergic to honey, you are free to use other ingredients, depending of the effect you want – you can add the egg yolk for an oily skin, you can egg white – for aging and acne-prone skin, and you can add the vegetable oil if you have a dry skin.
3. GREEN TEA-HONEY FACIAL MASK
1 tablespoon of green tea
1 tablespoons of raw honey
1 teaspoon of lemon juice
3 teaspoons of sugar (preferably brown)
Mix all the ingredients and apply the paste over your face — excluding the eyes, mouth, and eyebrows. Rub the paste over the face for 1-2 minutes in a slow and circular movement. Leave on for 10-15 minutes.
While rinsing off with warm water, use a washcloth for added exfoliating effects.
4. Cinnamon facial mask
1 teaspoon cinnamon
3 teaspoons of raw honey
1 inch of fresh aloe vera plant (only the inside gel) or 2 teaspoon of aloe vera juice
Mix all the ingredients and apply the paste over your face — excluding the eyes, mouth, and eyebrows. Rub the paste over the face for 1 minute, in a slow and circular movement. Leave on for 10 minutes or wash immediately you start feeling burning sensation.
